How To Boost SEO and Social Media Productivity

Because the marketing landscape is always changing, maintaining effectiveness and productivity when it comes to SEO and social media can feel overwhelming. Today, our team here at Quantus Creative is going to share some pointers on how to stay on task and actively improve your efforts as you move forward with your social media and/or site optimization.

SEO

Site Monitoring Tools

These tools are especially effective in identifying any errors on your site that may affect your ranking. Site monitoring tools regularly scan your website for 404 errors, duplicate content, or broken links, among other potential issues. If you’re thinking of updating your website or evaluating your current one, be sure to include this important step so that your website has a better chance of climbing the search engine rankings.

Keyword Research

Keywords/phrases are vital for SEO. Using the wrong keywords means you are less likely to be found by your target audience. When researching keywords, keep in mind that you should include both long and short-tail keywords to target audiences at different stages of their search journey. Also, note that keywords may differ depending on the area, so be sure to utilize tools that can help you identify the best keywords for you to use and even connect those keywords to revenue analytics, so you know what’s working. If you’re not interested in doing the research yourself, no worries! That’s what we’re here for.

Optimize Images

When we include images on our site, search engines use the file name or alt text to identify what the image is. When uploading a photo, video, or GIF, be sure that the file name is relevant to the content, and include a brief, optimized description in the alt text. This way, you’re not missing out on an opportunity to advance your SEO through every source of media on your site.

Social Media

Combine Tasks

By grouping similar tasks and grinding them out together, you can further streamline your social media process. For example, instead of creating a post and copy from scratch each day, plan your copy ahead of time so that you don’t have to worry about it throughout the week or month. Similarly, as you’re editing long-form content, take clips as you go to transform them into short-form content for other platforms.

Create a Social Media Calendar

Having a set, visual plan is necessary when scheduling social media posts. You want to be able to see how these posts will line up on your page or a user’s feed so that you can stay consistent and true to your marketing goals. Furthermore, a calendar will keep you on track with your overall schedule while identifying tasks that need to be completed before a post goes live. Calendars are especially helpful when social media tasks are split amongst several team members, allowing all assets to live in one place.

Organize Digital Assets

Speaking of assets, your digital assets must be stored in a place that is convenient for your team to find. Create folders specifically for unedited content, edited content, logos, different shoot dates, etc. While you may start with a few assets, things can easily become lost or buried as your collection grows. House these assets in one storage system that all of the appropriate team members have access to. We recommend looking into Box, DropBox, and Google Drive.

Continuously Check Analytics

Analytics are ever evolving. What was true last quarter may be completely different today. Maybe it’s summertime, so you’re seeing a spike in views from users’ home from college. Maybe your audience is trying to spend less time on their phones first thing in the morning. There are many factors that can lead to changes in views and interactions, so be sure to utilize the analytics made available to you within the different platforms you use.

Staying productive and on-task when it comes to SEO and social media is no small feat. This is why major companies employ large teams to handle different nuances of the marketing process. If you are just getting started, following these tips even on a small scale will set you up for success and help you to not only reach your audience but gain conversions.
