Apple Maps now has over 1 billion users, making it one of the go-to methods of routing and finding local businesses. These days, it is absolutely essential that your business is active on different platforms. Luckily, Quantus Creative has created a guide on how to get your business discovered and promoted on Apple Maps and Siri!
Step One: Create Your Apple Business ID
Go to appleid.apple.com and click ‘Create Your Apple ID’
Tips on creating your account:
- Use a trusted email address that you will be active on so that you can see any updates or notifications.
- Create a secure password that is easy for you to remember
- Set your device region
- Enter a phone number that you will always have access to
Step Two: Select Your Business Type
Sign into Apple’s Business Connect using your Apple ID to register your business.
Choose your type of business: Small, enterprise, or third party
Small: Select this option if you have between 1 and 25 locations
Enterprise: Over 25 locations excluding franchises
Third Party: Select this option if you will have an administrator handling this information moving forward
Check if your business is already listed by searching for it on Apple Maps. If it is, great! All you need to do is claim it as yours and edit your page. If you are not yet on Apple Maps, you’ll need to ‘Create New Location’ on Business Connect. Add all of your different locations and address details here.
Registering a Small Business

Provide all of the following information:
- Full address, suite number(if applicable), city, state, zip code
- Add your business name
- Add a default language if you’re multilingual
- List your website – This is especially important for users to find more info
- Hours of Operation – Ensure that these are accurate and update them if they change
- List the days you are open and the hours if they differ based on day.
Registering as an Enterprise
Hint: It’s not as difficult as it may seem
All you need is the following information:
- Your legal name
- Your corporate address
- Your corporate office phone number
- The 9-digit D-U-N-S number associated with your business (ask your finance department if you don’t already know it)
- The link to your website
Registering 3rd Party Administrator
Make sure your admin has the following:
- An Apple Business Connect account
- The account should be verified by Apple
Here’s how to add your administrator to your account:
- Go to ‘Share Access’ on your business account
- Enter your administrator’s ID
- Select their role (administrator should be the default)
- Customize their level of access to your business(certain locations or functions)
- Click ‘Send Invite’ and they will be notified
How to Register as a 3rd Party
If you are the administrator, use the following steps to register yourself:
- Add your own company details
- Your legal name
- Your corporate address
- Your corporate office phone number
- The 9-digit D-U-N-S number associated with your business (ask your finance department if you don’t already know it)
- The link to your website
- Share your Company ID with the business owner
- Wait to be invited to their account
Step Three: Get Verified on Apple Business Connect
The final step is getting your business verified. Please note that you will NOT be visible unless Apple has verified your account.
Verifying Your Small Business
- Choose the ‘Phone Call’ option to get verified via your phone number
- If you’re unable to get verified via phone, upload a copy of your lease, insurance policy, or a utility bill that shows your business’ name and address
Verifying Your Enterprise or 3rd Party
- Upload a document with your location’s name/address such as lease, insurance, or utility bill
- OR you can ‘Verify Domain’
- You will need to update your DNS server with a TXT record that is provided through Apple Business Manager
How to Get Verified Through Your Domain
- Find your domains TXT records
- You will have 14 days from the time you click ‘Verify’ to submit the above information
Step Four: Add Any Additional Info
Here are some ideas on how to spruce up your page:
- Add eye-catching photos of the inside and outside of your business
- Links to any apps your use for appointments or orders
- A unique and flattering description of your business that draws users’ attention
- Include features like parking, atmosphere, menu items, etc.
- Add Showcases: These are updates that last for up to 30 days and can introduce items, show off new features, and promote limited time offers
